Important Information for the 2020 Season

Official Little League Rules:  Starting for the 2020 season, we are shifting to the Official Little League Rules and Regulations.  This decision was coordinated with our neighboring districts for the following reason:

- To promote inter league play with more recreation programs

- Includes a well established and vetted rulebook*

- Shifts registration from grade based to age based.**

- Provides an opportunity to build an All-Start Team that can compete at regional and even national levels.

*For the 2020 season, we have chosen to provide a grace period for the use of non-USA certified bats.  In 2021, all bats must comply ith Little League rules - Bats must be USA certified.  For more information on the USA standard bat program, click HERE.

** Players may choose to PLAY UP from their current age bracket. However, the council and coaches reserve the right to transfer a player back to their appropriate age group if their skills are not at a sufficient level to compete with older players. This determination will be made with player safety and quality of experience in mind.

Recreation Softball

Starting for the 2020, all Softball registration will be combined under a single district. Players will no longer register under their respective Recreation Councils. During registration, players will be asked to report their district. This information will be used to build teams across all districts.

For Softball, registration will be through PBE Recreation.

Prettyboy Rec has youth baseball and softball for kids in grades Kindergarten – 9th grade.  This is a great opportunity for the kids to develop not only the skills needed for baseball/softball, but a love and understanding of a team sport.

Based on overall registration numbers between the four programs (5th District, Sparks, Prettyboy, and 7th District), combined teams may be formed with players from more than one recreation council in order to field enough teams in a given age bracket. This could affect a baseball and softball player's practice location.

• $50: Clinic baseball
• $100: All others

To ensure fair playing time for all participants, team sizes must be limited. Team placement will be done on a first come-first served basis. A waiting list will be maintained and new teams created if and when possible.

Team placement, friend and car pool requests will try to be honored, but are not guaranteed.
